We know that every camper is special and learns differently. That means our highly trained staff work one-on-one with campers on a skill-enhancing program to meet their individual needs. We go outside the classroom to help youth ages 6 to 17 strengthen and grow in their reading and language skills. We use the Orton-Gillingham approach, the most effective and beneficial method for teaching dyslexic children.
We start by giving each camper standardized diagnostic tests before camp to help guide where we should begin the tutoring program. We repeat these tests after camp to support the parents with a report of the child’s academic progress so that every child can continue to see improvements even after Dyslexia Camp is over. Enhanced testing is available for an additional fee. Pre-testing must be completed three weeks before the start of your child’s camp, and post-testing must be completed within three weeks following your child’s camp.
Each day is filled with a variety of fun and exciting outdoor activities that are designed to help campers with their creativity, self-esteem, and confidence, and to encourage positive attitudes.
